Shoot out credibility

I was reading the latest issue of an ATV magizine. Inside they state the danger of Polaris 400 Sportsman starting in gear and in the same issue applaude the Artic Cat 300 because of its new feature of being able to start in any gear.
Whats up with that? These are the same guys that take a 600 to 700
lb. utility machine and in thier full coverage motorcross gear try to catch 10 feet of air. Why dont they see how they work with a plow in deep snow or pull a trailer load of irrigation pipe thru a muddy field or haul a bull elk out of the mountains?
Am I missing something here?

What we need to do is start having our own shootouts with the people that actually own the quads they are testing. I have been trying to organize something like this for some time now. I would even be willing to let someone else ride mine for 1/2 a day while I ride theirs, and we could post our opinions. There is no way to eliminate bias or brand loyalty completely, but everyone involved could post their opinions. We have talked about doing a little shootout/competition this weekend at FWP. I am not sure how many people are going to show, but if we do have a good turn out, all the results will be posted by Monday night.
