Front LIFT and Spacer???"s
#1
Okay, I have a 2007 Sportsman 800 Stealth, and want to know. I find the front could be lifted 1.5 inches so the front skid plate is higher, as I find it too low, compared to the back.
My question is, will this wear out the front suspension or damage anything long term.
2nd question,
when I want to put a 9 inch wide tire on it, will I need a spacer in the front, and if so, will it look stupid with only the front spaced.
Do I have to do the rear too.
It would be a 1 inch if I have to.
Thanks guys.

The front tire spacing depends on which tire you run. I think some may work on stock rims, but if you are getting some with "side bites" you'll need some spacing. If you are getting rims also, 4+3 should do you just fine without any spacers.
On the lift, I have never hurt anything in the front because of lift. It will steer easier, as the tops of the tire will no longer be leaning inwards!
I am relisting my lift on a popular auction today!

just check out some of my pics as i put a 1 1/2" lift in the front w/ nothing in the back w/out any problem. i run 9" mudlites on mine and i beleave w/out the itp rims they would rub. you could put 1" wheel spacers in if you have too. i didnt like how the 2" lift made the bike react and the cv's were extended tooo much for my liking.

I put 27x10 on mine. There was a little bit of rubbing while doing a hard turn. I just put 1.5" spacers on all four corners of my bike. I did one side and looked at the bike from behind to see how much difference I could see, and it wasn't that much. I would recommend that you get your tires and mount them, they decide if you want to get a pair of spacers. Then, when you put the front spacers on, you can look and decide if you need to run spacers on the back too. Like I said, I have the 27x10s and have only a little bit of rubbing. If you are getting 27x9, you may not even need them. I did not get the spacers because of the wearing, btw. Hope this helps.

im not 100% sure but i think the new ones like an 06" have closer gaps up front then the older ones. i could be wrong but if so the older ones would take the wider tires easier then the new ones. just a thought. any body know for sure on this?
