OMG ARCTIC CAT IS RELEASING A 950
#4
On the Gorilla Axle forum (the only thing I could find in a Google search) they were talking about a 950cc V-twin Arctic Cat and a 1000cc Sportsman. I said it last year when Polaris teamed up with KTM, that they would be coming out with a 950cc ATV using the KTM 950 Adventure engine. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was an ATV approaching 1000cc in the near future.

I seen the screen shots from the Arctic Cat website before they pulled them down. Went up too soon evidently.
Looks to be quite the machine and a real evolutionary step forward for Arctic Cat. Everyone is going to be playing catch up for a bit.
A 950 cc SOHC 4 valve V twin.
IRS, front locker, CVT tranny with EBS, the usual.
950 cc V twin. Mercy. I do like the sound of that. Makes that 760cc engine in the Sportsman "800" I was planning on getting when the 2008s are released look a little less appealing.

i have been giving this one some thought and it seems a bit strange because Kawasaki makes the v-twin that arctic cat uses right well why wouldent they punch it out to 950
if that is possible? remember this started life as a 650 i think. it would be quite a stretch
to take that block 300cc's dont you think...
but i hope its true because that will force the market to take a step forwrd.
