bleed brakes
#2
depends if your trying to bleed all the old fluid out or just trying to get the air out. unless you have run the mastercylinder dry or got a hole in the line or something there shouldnt be any air in the system. but bleed it until straight fluid comes out and no air bubbles come out. just a thought.

what is the problem on your rear brake?
if you problem is it doesn't work anymore, on alot of the 1998 or so an newer machines, the cups inside the master cylinder have a tendancy to retract, especially in the cold of winter...
to fix it, put a heavy weight, like a brick on the rear foot pedal, overnight, then get up in the morning, take the weight off, pump it back up with your foot, should have your brakes back
