Ok hope everyone had a good christmas i did,but after after christmas wasn't so great. I was riding when my rearend started to wobble so i was thinking maybe the bearings where going out but nope to my surprise the swingarm on the left side was crack cleam in half, and the sad thing is that it is really reallly thin. So well i started calling around for an aftermarket swingarm and found a few for bout 379 in that area but then i called ftr and they said they have a new one that comes from drag cars and is alot stronger than stock(anything has to be its thin)But the bad thing is $550,but i wouls rather get the strongest one what should i do. i might turn it into insurance so they might cover the price of a stock swingarm which is like 180.

Take it to a GOOD welding shop that can use a TIG welder on it. Unless it was twisted up before it broke it might be weldable.

Don't forget you have a deductible on your insurance so you may only $80 if you have a $100 deductible.

i work in a weld shop and work with aluminum and tig welding. it would prob. work but if it breaks again on the trail you would wish you bought a new one. once it is welded it isnt the same!!

I forget what you have, but I would recommend Hot Seat's swingarm any day. I'm not particulary (sp?)fond of any of their other products, but think their swingarm is top notch.

Get someone to Arc weld it for you and make sure you use an electrode that will penetrate to hold it together strong.
