I have a 2001 polaris sportsman 500 ho.
The hillard clutch on the left side does not engage. It is not the clutch, as it works in a differnt machine and a working clutch does not work in my machine. The front differential is also working as it should.
I have checked the wiring down to the "blue silcone" and all is well. I was reading Clymer repair manual and it says the outer magnet pole is adjustable.... I don't see how it is.
Can the magnet portion of this go bad? How do check it? Other thoughts?

I fixed the 4x4 drive. I just tapped the sleeve seal inward with a rubber mallet and got the gap between the inner and outter poles into specs. It works perfect now.
