2007 POLARIS PHOENIX

I have read the horror stories, please someone help! I have had my Machine just shy of 2 months. In the shop, 3rd time again, for backfiring problem. When machine gets wet ( I am talking puddles, not riding through 4 feet of water) It stalls. When it starts, runs and idles fine in Neutral. Put it gear, it hesitates, backfires and does not run at all. I am so fed up with this machine, ready to throw it through the dealers window!! We spent 16K on 3 Polaris machines and this is the only one with problems. Anyone else know have this problem or know the cure? It is not dependable at all. We spend weekends away riding, and I am the one sitting it out. Polaris no help at all, tell us dealers problem..thanks for standing behind your product!!! Help!!! My state no lemon law, great, or this thing would be back!!!

Sorry to hear about your luck. First off, it is not made by Polaris but for them.......Asia somewhere.....thats the main reason I stayed away from it. I went with a Suzuki Ozark.....better price more features and bullet proof. I have heard too many storys about the Phoenix/Sawtooth's reliability and think it is aweful that Polaris wont do what needs done to rectify your problem along with making the right fixes to keep these things from happening....... You might try looking on some old threads as to a fix.....good luck.

I bought a Sawtooth a little over a month ago and it started cutting out real bad. I took it the shop 4 times and they tried everything to get it running better. I bought a trailboss at the same time and have not had any problems out of it. I actually got a refund on the Sawtooth this week. I believe the Phoenix has the same engine as the Sawtooth. You might try and get a refund it. I would not recommend the Sawtooth to anyone.

Did they refund you the whole amount? Our dealer wants to give us 2200 for it, we paid 3200 for it 2 months ago...they are crazy to treat us this way!! Dirttracker 27, let me know if you got full refund...what state are you in? We don't have lemon laws on bikes in IL....

try taking your front plastic off , while its running take a spray bottle with water n start spraying different areas around your wiring , until the condition starts . sounds like you might need to do some water - proofing on some of your connections .....

PonyGirl, what part of Illinois do you live in? Might try taking to different dealer and having them look at it. There are a couple in Southern Illinois, one in Crossville that is a very good mechanic, knows what to do to fix problems and not relying on the Mother Ship to tell him what to do.
Keep working on the dealer, to get the full refund, they should at least do that!
Keep us up to date on what you find out, if anything.

Well, Dealership is sticking to their guns on trying to give us 2200 for the machine. Definately not standing by the product they sell. My husband is like, well, you lost all our business and future business and they did not seem to care. We live near Joliet, IL so not sure who else we can bring the thing to..any suggestions? I don't feel safe on this machine at all. I don't want to feel that way I love to go 4-wheelin!
