Default 2007 Sporty 800 Deluxe Problems

Yep, pain in the rump. I like the Popo's too but this may make me consider another brand. My 04 700 has been a trouble free workhorse for me but it is my wife's bike and I can't always be taking it because she likes to ride too. We are supposed to be on our summer ATV trip this week but we had to cancel because of the situation mentioned in this forum. Nice that Polaris is taking it's sweet time to determine if this is a warranty issue or if it was improperly maintained. I am a 43 year old Finance Director and I don't ride like a maniac. We hit the mudpits once in a blue moon but the lion's share of my riding is on the trails in and around the hurley area. If the Popo's can't stand up to that kind of riding, they shouldn't be in the business. I asked the guy from Polaris how he would handle this situation and he said that his opinion wouldn't matter anyway. Can you feel the love?

thats down right dirty of polaris, at least they should give you a machine to use while they drag there feet, the problem with so many people that there all getting money hungry, they want that extra dollar when you buy, but dont want to give back a penny when you have a problem, that is why this country is so messed up, people like that invented the word murder, robbery, and dishonest, they say look out for #1, who is that? your customer is #1 and your customer is actually your boss, but some people just dont care

I live by the motto - don't take no from someone who can't tell you yes - continue to go up the chain of command until you get the answer that you desire.

I have had to do this with other items, but never a quad. Just start asking for their supervisor - when they say they can't do anything, ask for their supervisor - you may have to go up pretty far to get an appropriate response. Someone will take care of you if you just keep going up the chain of command.

How is your dealer. I have found that the dealer is culprit when it comes to warrenty work. Polaris talks to them and ask them what they think as they are looking at the quad. So most of the time, Polaris replies based on feedback from the dealer. The dealer many times says there doing all they can, but once you leave there not doing much to help you. A good dealer can be worth a fortune, but a crappy dealer can make a great quad look bad.

Actually, my dealer seems to be going to bat for me. At least that is the appearence at this point. You never really know. I remember when I first started riding quads. If it broke under the warranty period, they fixed it and they fixed it fast. Now days it's not like that. I think booboobear hit the nail on the head. Lots of good lip service until the moment you buy your bike and then it's out the window. I have to say though, having a forum to vent is kind of cool. Kind of takes the edge off.

Interesting update.....I got a letter from Polaris telling me that my warranty was up in August and offered to sell me an extended warranty. They don't seem to interested in honoring this one so why would someone buy an extension?

Sorry to hear the problems. My 800 has performed flawlessly thus far. I had a rear suspension bushing bolt break on my 700, which damaged arm/hub/bearing also. Had almost $400 just in parts, month out of warranty. Did work myself and Polaris helped out nill. Even wrote letter to president. Did get a letter back stating I was on my own. Checked rest of bolts and half were loose on rear suspension. Only problem with 700, and none on 500. Hope it gets worked out to your satisfaction, good luck.

dont get too worked up on that - its just a computer generated notice. Really sucks to hear you are having that many problems. Posts like this make me wanna buy somthin else. Hope it works out for you.

Not many companies beleive in keeping cust service at 100% - when margins get tight, thats where most do cutbacks because they arent directly adding to the bottom line.
