Buy some heat insulation or/and header wrap. Search for header wrap on ebay.. it's sort of like fiberglass mat that you wrap your exhaust with.

Nice fixes and Pics too. Thats what I
like about this forum, so many tech/mechs
who are willing to do their own stuff.

Innovations! I guess I can't claim that
title yet with just a few installations under my
belt and so small fixes like using some longer carriage
bolts with the handle bar assy to hold
my mirror w/rocker switch, rad replacement,
pre-fab mods (Rvse override/3-way light)
change out tire (replacement), etc etc.

But I have done all my work on my bike
so far to date, getting there!

Thanks. I try to do most of the stuff.. except when I'm out of time, but I normally find the time to do it anyways.
Last year my car's timing belt snapped.. I rebuilt the head and replaced everything even though I'd never done it before. It was pretty easy but took a whole month because of set backs.
It also helps when you have a diploma in industrial mechanics.. and currently studying mech. engineering.

Yea, I guess being "cheap" is
always an incentative to do
your own work.

But I could no where compete
w/you all indust.mech/engineers
and such. Me I am a humble
IT professional (including PC
Repair-easy but fun!)

Being a mechanic doesn't have anything to do with it though.. I used to mess with this stuff before I started school in industrial mechanics. It's just something you like to do i guess.
