Hawkeye Solution / problems

fixed the hawkeye and slowness of this machine today im so impressed that im still giddy over it, The clutch rollers are to heavy for Oklahoma weather my elevation is 1700 feet and it still felt sluggish and i could feel the clutch shift out while going faster but it was shifting out to quick and not letting the motor hit the "sweet spot " the 50 mph top speed will drop and thats okay it runs perfect now from a stand still to 47 mph but heres the times and speeds they may vary as i was using a Stop watch and also timed the film after filming so its real close.
I removed 2 clutch rollers that are direclty opposed to each other, Polaris said we can do that and it worked. This thing will also wheelie and it would not wheelie before at all.
More to Say : im not responsible if you tear up your quad by screwing up, this is a fix for the 2007 polaris hawkeye, Polaris website says you can do this for higher elevations, im Assuming that the clutch on both Models are the same, i took it aprt today after riding it hard yesterday and its Okay.
Old speed 0-40 13.45 seconds
new speed 0-40 8.54 seconds
Old 300 ' sprint speed 37 mph 18 seconds
new 300' sprint speed 42 mph 9.02 seconds

No Special tools, the only thing you need when taking this apart/ together is the T-tool in your tool kit,and some screw drivers, you have to screw in the t-tool and pull while kinda prying on the out /center ring, Its slow process but works

didnt have to remove the belt or the plastic, the hardest part was getting the Cover itself off, you have to pry it off with a screwdriver be careful and dont hit the rubber seal when prying. all i had to take off was the footwell and the back left tire, once you get to the cluthc itself then you can walk it off with 2 scewdrivers slowly.

No way I could pry anything off. On mine with the Tee tool installed, there is NO way to pry anything to get the rollers out. I had to use a 30MM socket and an impact wrench to get the large nut off, then the moving sheave and roller assembly comes off easily.
I'm in the middle of it now taking a lunch break. I have some 12g rollers I may try instead of the 14g rollers it came with. I may try removing the oppsoing rollers like you say, can't decide.

if i had some lighter rollers i would have used them, the 12 gram rollers will work good, should be about the same, i felt Uneasy about taking two of the rollers out but hey it worked, More than likely i will get some 10-12 gram rollers and reinstall them, the part that i pryed on is the Chrome jar lip looking peice on the roller cover.
