bleeding scrambler brakes
I've had more success having an assistant (the wife) pump the brakes while I opened the bleeder fitting than using my vacuum bleeder for the Scrammy brakes. What I learned was to pump the brakes, especially the foot brake, much faster than what I'm used to with a car (obviously the Scrammy doesn't have power assist). Leave the cap off the brake reservior while pumping and make sure you don't run the reservior dry. I tried not to let the brake fluid be exposed to air for too long though as it absorbs moisture. I had to be much more patient than I thought should be necessary, but eventually the pressure built up. From reading other posts and my own experience, the foot pedal seems to lose brake pressure over a fairly short amount of time, so it may be necessary to repeat the brake bleeding periodically.
