My uncle has one that I have gotten to drive around a bit. I personally didn't find it all that comfortable to cruise around in, but my cousin loves it. He drives it out into the lake and fishes from it, so that is pretty cool. Plus i have seen it climb some pretty impressive inclines.

Not familiar with the term "muskeg", but from what I saw of it in the mud i would say that it is decent. It helps that it was wider that the atv's that everyone else was riding, so it wouldn't get hung up in their tracks, but i did see it get high centered one time and stuck, they don't have alot of clearance.

muskeg is pretty much soupy pete moss ( we have alot of it in northern canada),it makes a mud hole look like a mud puddle. you can bury a quad up to its handle bars in no time. back to the argo info, how good is it at jumping logs and such. i'm thinking an argo would be best in open areas where it is wet and not in treed areas .

While it is too wide for the trails that I ride, if the trails are wide enough it does quite well because it can turn so sharp.. or just spin 360's lol. Climbing logs and whatnot I never saw, but i did see it doing some pretty impressive rock crawling, so I would think that it would do just fine climbing logs. They have a really low center of gravity, and can really lug, so if you want, you can probably maneuver them over almost anything.

I had a friend who was the first Kawasaki dealer in north ga , he sold them serviced and repaired overhauled Kawasaki and all the othe brand''s also from the smallest bike's to the biggest Harley Davidison ! I worked for him restoring some old bike's evreything from the old Indain's, and all kind of import's and american made machine's ! Then when Kawasaki wanted him to invest over 2 hundred thousand dollar's in Kawasaki inventory , he gave up the Kawasaki dealership ; and started selling the New Indain small cycle's and the Argo and Max allterain vehicle's for about 4 or 5 years ! Then he went into Construction work he ran from his home , 4 Backhoe's with frontend loader's And 2 Cattapillar dozer's ; that's what he does still today ! The Argo's and the smaller Max atv's would go anywhere , but he almost killed a freind on one of the smaller max 6 wheeler's while he was taking him on a test ride on his farm ; after that he gave up everything but the Construction equipment rental and did the work for people who didn't know how to operate the heavy equipment on their own ! But back to your question about the Argo's , they come in 6x6 and 8x8's and there are a few hunting ranch's in texas and florida that use them in the swamp's and bog's that no other machine's can't go ; so i guess the answer about how they are in the mud and muskeg would be very well ! But i would have to warn anyone who buy's one that they're just as dangerous if not more so , if they're used by someone who doesn't know how to use them safely ; and try to use them beyond their capability ! The cheaper one's use a skid type steering kind of like a dozer , but higher priced model's have independent gear box's that give them a smoother and stabaler ride !

Argo; I have one; an 8X8 older one.
Pro's=
They float, so you can drive to your favorit fishing hole and drive right in and fish.
They will just about go anywhere and climb like a goat.
Mud, water, dirt, they just go.
They can turn in their own length
They are real fun to drive.
They can haul lots of camping gear.
You can put tracks on them for even more traction.
You can put an outboard on the back for lake crossing.
You will get a lot of attention with one if that's your thing.
Con's=
No suspension so they ride rough.
They are slow. About 15 to 18MPH or so wide open.
The older ones like mine are underpowered a bit.
Very little ground clearence and that is bad news in a rutted road or trail. They can slide on there belly, but they do get hung up.
They are expensive.
They have an open rearend for a tranny so you have to feather the sticks to get true 6X6 or 8X8 drive unlike an MAX which has a plantary tranny.
IMHO an argo is for work. A MAX is for recreation, and an Attex is for racing!!!!!!!! Nothing like going 55MPH with a skid steer!!!
