Default One of those days.....x2!

Got to ride last 2 weekends in a row, which was great. Till.....Week and half ago, coming down a familar trail, maybe a little fast, football sized rock sitting on a ledge rock below a 18" drop. No where to go, had to hit it. Up into brushquard, pushed into radiator, into fan. Fan making noise. Disconnect fan and straight back to camp. Take front end off and pound out dent, OK to finish riding. Order new guard, in yesterday.
Then, this past weekend, was going for a quick, calm ride then swim. I never wear sandals riding, but....see this short hill, then another, another and want to hit it and turn around. Well, I turned around...at top of hill backwards. Front came up once, let off and down, sliding back, slight throttle and up hard this time. Didn't think I could move that fast, but I jumped off and was down that hill before machine came over. Lands upside down on/paralleling fallen tree. Still running like a top. Good ol' EFI. Got help uprighting, front lid broke, both rack extenders smashed, back rack broken, handlebars bent. Darnit!! Anyways, sandals wound up like hoola hoops around my ankles before I got to bottom of hill. Ripped out of souls, and that loose rock did a number on my foot. Ouch! Lost a little oil, little pride but oh well, could've been worse. Debated new parts, then ordered them yesterday. As I knew, sandals are never a good idea riding.
And one more thing, have a chance and pass to go riding this weekend, hmmm......should I fix it now or when I get back??

Thanks for the reminder about proper footwear! I wouldn't recommend anything less than a pair of heavy duty work shoes. Even better if you wear some kind of boot to protect ankles. I'd wait until you have the machine all patched up and then take it on a good long test drive to be sure everything feels okay. Hope it all works out.

Well, got the new parts on. Discovered 2 other small problems. Tie rod boot ripped. That's my second one. Anyone else ripping these? They are pretty thin rubber, and very close to tire. Other is a broken lower-rear-A-arm bolt. Broke one on my 700 also. Bolt had been failing, was half rusted at break. Problem is breaks off in aluminum housing. No quick trail fix that I know of. Anyone have a fix for that? Better grade bolt? Replaced bolt and waiting on boot. Handlebars still bent a little. Will test ride as you suggest Moosehenden, wearing boots. BTW, thanks for the polaris parts link, will use next time if there is a need. There brushguards were cheaper.
