I just got a new sportsman 500 with a 60" glacer 2 plow. Is it bad to transport the 4 wheeler with the plow up? Would it be bad on the winch? I have been looking for a used 8x10 trailer but have been noticing there are more 8x8 trailers out there. My 4 wheeler with the plow down ends up being a little shy of 9'. Appreciate the help. I am new to the atv world.

I would say it depends on the winch. The new 3.0 warns and larger have a mechanical brake and this would not harm it at all. Would you be able to pull up to the trailer and set the plow on the front of the trailer enough to close the gate? Either way, I have a 2.5 warn and I cuise all of the place to plow with the plow up. It will bounce a bit on the quad, but no problems that I have noticed.

 

I have the winch polaris supplies in the deluxe package. if I can't find a 8x10 and get a 8x8 I was thinking about putting some type of extension on the front to set the plow on.

 

I bought a 7x12 to put mine on. Nice size.

 

I wish I could get either a 7x12 or a 8x12 but don't have the money. I am still in highschool and all my money is going for gas for my truck and paying for the 4 wheeler so funds are limited. Trying to find a used one for around $500. I found a 8x8 for $350 so I think I'm going to make that work.
