#1
ive torn my cv boot on the right fornt side of my 800 just below the clamp. can i get away with just putting another clamp over the tear?is it hard work to change it your self or should i spend the ( most likely hundreds of dollars) for the dealer to do it? dam just when i thought i could afford my new tires.
thanks for all the help

if you tore the boot, then replace it as water and mud, or dirt will kill the cv joint fast. the clamp sets in a little groove so moving it would be reather diffecult. you need a good clamp tool to replace it to put it back on and the boot is $30.00 and up.

thanks stendori just got of the phone with the dealer and they said 3 hours at $80 an hour plus $45 dollars for the boot kit. so ill buy the boot kit and do it myself . never done it before but i dont imagine i could be that hard , one thing though the boot is torn close to the wheel , once i get the hub assembly takin off is the cv going to slide out of the diff without having to take the othe boot of? no what i mean? hope i said it right

did you tear the inside boot(towards the engine) or the outside by the wheel? if its the outside one then you dont have to mess w/ the inside boot at all. if thats what you mean.
