yep, its a twin. should have 2 plug wires and 2 plugs. I just got mine (same as yours) about a month ago and its awesome! I went from a 98 artic cat 400 to it and its taking some getting use to. I haven't had any problems at all with mine. just be sure to do some maintenance on it such as new plugs and fuel filter. only thing to really check is to make sure the battery box is clean. the previous owner of mine took good care of it but neglected to clean the box. my battery was pretty much cemented in the box! also make sure the radiator is real clean before you ride. these things like to run warm and a blocked radiator will overheat them. is yours the mossy oak version? how many hours and miles on it? and if you don't mind me asking, how much did you give for it?

I bought a MINT 03 in Sept 06. I pd 5,000 w/ a winch, plow, extra filters, oil etc. Also has an ATV jack & a brand new set of factory chrome wheels. It had 515 miles, 151 hours. I would make sure the water pump recall was done. There will be a metal plate over it if it has been done. Make sure the AWD doesn't kick in while the switch is off. What did you guys pay for your 03?

I have a 2004 and it is bullet proof. As far as the cemented battery goes, I had the same problem. The bottom of the battery box has holes in it. Get a long piece of metal and put it thru the hole. Lightly tap it with a hammer and it will push it up from the bottom. Graz on the new bike. They really are screamers and don't require alot of maintenance.

In July I sold a 04 Honda Rancher for $4000 & bought a black 03 700 with 131 miles on it for $4700. (winch, front/rear bumbers, helmet). I love it!! Makes my Rancher seem like a tinker toy.
The only thing I did was install a Dynojet jet kit. Have you had the machine back-fire when you let off the gas after a hard acceleration or just idle very rough? I thought it was bad plugs or a dirty air filter/carb. I called a local dealer & talked to a very honest mechanic. These machines are very lean at idle. They did that to get them to pass EPA emissions for a 4-stroke engine. That is why they sometimes run better at 1/4-1/2 choke than they do normal. They can be very "cold-blooded" especially in a MN winter. The kit floods the carb with fuel at start-up & idle. I don't even use the choke anymore to start it. Polaris even sent out a memo to their techs about it.
What other mods have people done to these??? I am always looking for more good info!!!!!

Just added a clutch kit. Makes a difference.
I, too, had to put a new battery in.
I wish I knew the "trick" to get the old one out. Could have saved lots of time & a few @%#@ words.
