Default 500 efi wont idle

my o6 sportsman 500 efi has only 300 miles on it but will not idle and runs rough throughout the entire rpm range. on the trail it ran perfect one minute, hasn't ran the same since. spark plug and air filter look good.

My bro in-law has same wheeler. Had the same problem with about the same miles on it. He took it to the dealer and they had to re-flash it. It was covered under waranty and has run good ever since.

My 2006 Sportsman 500 EFI has EXACTLY the same no idle problem with only 100 miles on it. I use it only during the hunting season in 2006 and getting ready to use it this season...or so I think. It's out of warranty and going to the dealer tomorrow, then I'm trading it in for something better in design.

Are EFI's really worth the extra??.........Sure they are great for adjusting riding conditions and fast choke free starting...............But with my Carb model I can at least work on it and not need to take to the dealer every time there is a problem!!.......I mean all the Talk about Re-flash, sensors, comp read-outs,

How many out there will work on there own Quad if they had a Carb?
How many out there will work on there own Quad if they had E.F.I.?

Just a thought for discussion??...........Caper.........

I will work on anything as long as its within my mechanical ability and if I have the proper tools. EFI might be a little harder to diagnose a problem, but can still be worked out. I just hope its one of those things that never needs fixing.
