rear sub frame breaking down
on my holidays my rear sub frame broke down while riding in France, my friend mentioned that had a strange sight while riding behind me with his Grizzly 660
when we looked the welds on the left side were broken and so was the metal plate the suspension was hanging from.
after talking to my dealer in the Netherlands we decided to take pictures of it and then take it apart and to a local welder and make some temp repairs
So the holidays were saved
But I wonder if it would not be better if polaris put some engeneers at the drawing table instead of the accountants they use at the moment
1st there was the recall for the front bearing parts to litle material
2nd the stearing post recall
3rd wil there be a recall for the rear sub frame?????????????????????because it the matreial they used, would it have been 1 mm more in thicknes a lot of their custummers would not have problems.
by making the material as thin as it is, Polaris save's 2 or max 3 dollars on the subframe but loses a lot more when it comes to custommer satisfaction and confidence not to mention the waranty claims the get .
[img]i/expressions/brokenheart.gif[/img] I was in the market for a bigger one after my hawkeye but now i Have bought a Grzzly 660 there los not mine

My dealer in the Netherlands had contact with the polaris distributer and they told him he had green light to order and repair under waranty
with mine it was, when jou look from behind it was also the left side, the welds on the subframe broke down the swing arms are oke
the place where the swing arm connects, with the bolt you can grease (frame side)
had several cracks in it because of the weld gave in on the right side the wel was giving in also, not complete but jou could see the cracks on the front side welds the rear is much stiffer because of the extra plate.
the dealer is the one that has to talk to and lean on polaris and confince them its a waranty issue
good luck and many fun miles

My lower left rear A Frame broke yesterday.
I'm still trying to get Polaris to repair.
It is on a 2006 Hawkeye 2x4
How did your come out?

What's the latest on your broken frame. I'm getting a bit concerned as the Hawkeye is what my wife rides and I don't want it failing and send her crashing.
Did your dealer fix it for you too?
Do you happen to have any pictures?

So far Polaris wants pictures and my dealer has my quad.
We will have to wait until next week to see what they say.
Seems I can't attach the picture here. Not sure why.
Send me your email address in a PM and I will send pics.

I receiver great news today from my local RideNow Dealer.
Polaris said they will repair the rear A Frame failure.
I really think it happened because of the way my dealer (RIDENOW) addressed the problem to Polaris. Special thanks to Rob the service guy.
So I very happy camper.
