Can someone explain how the charging system works on a SP 500 HO i know there is no alternator like a car but i am not really sure how it works.Also is there a way to get into a diagnostic mod on the 03 model.

the charging is done thru the magneto and recifier controlls amount of voltage. if its a newer style speedo w/ the digtal read out, try putting it in neutral and w/ the key off push and hold the override and then turn key on and then release button once screen is active. then use the override to toggle thru the choices.
