Default Pressure washing your ATV

Should one be conerned about pressure washing certain areas of your ATV? I leave mine up on the ramps and throughly pressure wash the under carriage and radiator fan since it get packed with mud. My 06 EFI 500 overheated once due to a radiator plugged with mud. Anyways I am curious if one should be careful when blasting certain parts of your ATV with 2600 PSI.

Be careful not to blast your decals off.

that kind of pressure bends fins on your radiator so I would be real careful around it. also it can get past seals and also destroy rubber parts. if you use a pressure washer, I would stand way back from it (the quad) while washing. I use a regular garden hose on mine. takes a little longer but it works fine.

i use the lower pressure tip on my machines and it works fine but as said the high pressure will eat rubber like cv boots and things like that

Yep, you can blow the stickers clean off your bike at 2450 psi. Take it from me, I've done it. I was told by a couple of people to watch using your pressure washer anywhere things may have been greased or where there might be rubber gaskets. I think if you go with the fan setting, you will do much better with the pressure washer. The radiator fins will bend under that kind of pressure as well and then you won't cool how you should. I found for a radiator that a garden hose works just fine and I shoot it from the front and the back.

I use one of those Karcher electric 1800 PSI washers. No problem with it. I doubt it's much stronger than a good garden hose.

I have one of those too and I should go with that. Never really tried it on the bikes before. Lot smaller and lighter than the gas one and should be easier to travel with.
