AAEN pipe which jetting and no idle?
#1
hey i just recently got the aaen top end pipe and some boyesson reeds, i took it to the mechanic and threw in a 260main jet, he didnt change anything else, is that what i should be running, i'm in ontario so elevation doesnt change much, the bike now will not idle and boggs alittle on the low end, should the pilot jet be changed, i tried adjusting the pilot screw with no luck. thanks guys, so u know my plug was black as could be, shes running rich all round.

No you should be spot on with .260 main only @ anything under 1000 ft. If it wont idle right then carb needs to be cleaned or might need a rebuild. If it still wont idle right then you either have a bad crankcase seal or low compression from rings going bad.

checked compression 115 the book says its ok, crank seals are good with the reeds the instructions said something about a larger pilot and smaller main or slightly richer pilot and leaner main i think, any other suggestions

hello again guess what, i took it and the mechainic changed the clip inside the carb and leaned it out, i thought it was fine the plug was light brown, i went for a rip and she ran great till i was heading home when it made a clicking sound and started to bog out, i pulled the plug off and it was white, and the bike had no compression. ,started ripping it apart and found that the top of the piston on the exhaust side is mangled, so its up for a new rebuild . while the motors out im thinking of getting it ported and maybe the head shaved for higher comp. with the porting will the bike still be reliable? any does/ dont for the rebuild
