How to Adjust drive belt?
#2
there is no adjustment to speak of. you may shim or remove shims in the secondary and align the engine and thats about it. what is it doing to make you want to try to adjust it?

It just seems that I have to give it more gas to get going. To me it seems like the belt is a bit lose. I figured with some adjustment I would get a better reponse when I hit the throtle.

Have you tried a new belt? The difference between a old or cheap belt is night and day compared to a new quality belt, hook up is much better. Could be your clutch is hanging up? Pull the clutch cover and watch what's happening when you apply throttle, is the clutch engaging smoothly? First thing I did when I picked up my 98, new factory clutch kit and belt, big difference.
