Tires...how much bigger...
Looking into new tires for my 400 explorer, stock tire size is 25/8/12, 25/10/12.
First question, how much bigger can I go without lifting/spacers. My thought is I can fit 26/9/12 and 26/12/12 in my wells and on my stock wheels?
Majority of my riding is backwoods trailblazing, getting the deer stands placed/built, etc, this sometimes means getting through the swamps. Ice fishing, I put many miles on a year on the ice. I don't do any trail riding, maybe once a year.
Brands, I really like the 589m/s, had them on my kodiak, worked out well.
Mud lites, xtr, executioner?? Decisions, decisions...What do you like?
P.S...also, who has the best prices online??
thanx

i wouldnt go over 27" for sure but most likely safe w/ the 26" choice and a little easier on the drive train. i personally love my xtr's for all around use. they did really good in mud and not to bad in snow(didnt use it much in it though) and they handle really good on the trails as there a radial tire. the best thing is that w/ over 700+ miles on them they havent worn even a 1/4" off the tread. but i dont ride pavement w/ them either.
