Help on brakes that lock up
Hi, I have an 1988 Polaris Trail Boss that I'm trying to keep running, but the problem is that the brakes are locking up. The brake lever is very hard to squeeze even if the brakes aren't locked up. We have replaced the rear pads and bled the rear brake. I have been able to bleed 1 of the 2 front brakes, but the bleader has been broken off one of them flush. One thing that we noticed was that when the machine warms up, or has been sitting in a shed when it is hot the brake will lock up.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks

Your cables might be bad that would explain hand break issue. Have u replaced fluid? dont worry about bleeding all but one caliper.it should not be a problem. I would think new calipers would fix it. Piston inside is getting stuck when out all the way. Is it mounted correctly? also check Rubber on master cylinder on handlebar and piston boot on calipers

I had a similar problem with my 88 trail boss. The rear brake would apply preassure but was very slow to release and this would stop you where ever you were. The pads would be smoking. I finaly took mine to a guy who works on them and he flushed the lines and put new fluid in them. They had alot of sludge in them. On mine there is no cables.
