Default 2007 Sportsman 500 EFI Fuel Injection Issue

Has anyone had any issues when sitting at idle and opening the throttle wide open? My atv will sometimes cut off (and not very responsive)? The dealer said that is normal. I know someone who has a carburetor atv and he has no issues like this. I thought that an EFI system would be better. Any thoughts will be grateful.

Do you mean just revving the engine in neutral?? Is it revving high enough to hit the rev limiter??

No, I don't think it is. It's just the initial response, at idle, of the EFI. It's as soon as I hit the gas, in neutral.

How many miles are on it. When mine was still shiny it seemed a little boggy, but when I got some miles on it, it seemed better. Now with 1400 miles and a few mods it's great!!

My 06 500 efi before I got the new ecm update to fix the minor issues they all had did not ever bog at all when in neutral but since the update it does it mostly when cold. There is something I have been wondering about the newer models 500 efi's. When you turn off the key do you hear the fuel pump relieving pressure and the hear a few ticking noises that is the needle realigning itself. Before I got the update I only heard the pump. Can someone let me know if you still hear both. THNX.

mine boggs when its cold but most all water cooled engines do a little when its cool out. we always used the throttle as a guild line to go , meaning if you push the throttle and it bogs (when you first start it) its not warmed up enough yet to go. mostly on sleds, but seems to be on my wheelers as well. i dont hear any clicking sound on my 800 when i turn it off and the pump is alot quieter then the 06' was.

I don't hear any sounds from mine other than the initial pressurizing of the pump/fuel system. As far as the bogging, I ALWAYS warm mine up before riding, but if I try to move it when cold, there is some minor sputtering. Like Stendori said, the bogging makes for a good guideline as to if it's warmed up enough to ride.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>When you turn off the key do you hear the fuel pump relieving pressure and the hear a few ticking noises that is the needle realigning itself.</end quote></div> My '07 500 EFI makes both noises; hum of the pump when the key is turned on and clicking sound of what I presume to be pressure relief when the key is turned off.
