[img][/img] Thanks for the info about the E8198 fuel pump #. . Auto Zone here in Arizona had it in stock 78.99 and they also had the filter 10 bucks. NAPA P72118 had to be ordered 7 to 10 day 103.00 plus shipping.</end quote></div>

so it looks like that E8198 number would be good to cross ref. from. thats a good price.
Can you provide the (autozone) part number for the fuel filter?

Thanks. I am new to this forum (and Polaris), I did a search and , of course, dug up all the 'old' stuff before asking dumb questions.

Hey all... i know this is an old topic, but I need help along these lines. Same fuel pump issue, but on a 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI. $410 is the cheapest legit pump/tank I can find. Any ideas on a NAPA fuel pump for me? Perhaps its the same as the 800? Does anyone know their stock part number or something? PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

Smile Thank you Thank you Thank you

I have to say thanks to you guys. I purchased a used 05 polairs 800 efI that would run for two hours and then shut down. I took it to the shop and they told me it was the cramshaft sensor ($340). Again it shut down. They told me it needed a Fuel system clean out ($190). They said they could not get it to shut down. Again it shuts down after two hours. I called Polaris to get some answers. I even e-mail the President of the company for answers. What a joke. I took it to a different dealership explaining the issues. They tell me it is running hot and I need a new fan($459). it shuts down again. I came onto the forum researching this issue. I saw this forum about the fuel pump. I do think it is dump having to buy the tank and the fuel pump. I bought my fuel pump (airtex E8198 $84.99)and installed it. I ran the bike and it did not shut down. Thanks for all the help. I will be let everyone I know that has ATV issues to come to this forum.

Smile answers to your problem

WHarvester,

the Napa part is P72118 and is about $95.00. Or you can go to Autozone Airtex E8198 for $87. I bought a fuel filter to have get a 1yr warranty on the pump. I hope this helps?

the model number is an Airtex e8198. you can get it at any Autozone store. Napa makes one p72118. Buy a fuel filter for the pump. It gives you a year warranty. Before you buy the pump make sure that you fuel pump can be removed. Some of the polaris' have the fuel pump bulit into the tank. I was told that mind was, but it was not. It took me about an hour to change the it out. One the top left side of the tank mind has a metal ring that has a spicket that has screws that hold it in.
