Default POLARIS GURUS HELP!!!

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: NEK VT

I was reading that some people had symptoms like this when the gas tank was low... the fule pump was overheating?..... If sombody has experienced this please let me know what it was doing?.... also I know there is a cheaper aftermarket pump that fits..... what is the P/N and where can I get one?</end quote></div>

I have a pump sitting on my bench I will send you. It's gonna cost you though, they're not cheap. Maybe you pay for freight and it's yours! Alright I was kidding when I said it would cost you. You will ahve to use all your old parts, except for the pump. I kept just the pump, nothing else. You don't have any codes correct? Check again for me if you would. I have seen wiring issues that could cause exactly what your talking about and there are kits available to repair them. Try this too. On the t-map sensor pull on the wires to make sure they are not broken inside the insulation. I've seen several of these with broken wires. one wire is pink(can't remember the others) If not, we'll see about getting you a pump.

No, no codes anymore, that one code i had was because i had a sensor unplugged when i was working on it.... I cleared them and they did not come back but i still have my no-power issue. I also had a look athe the wires on the Tmap and they seem to be ok. man, .....I can't win

You looked at the wires you said. Did you physically grab them and pull on them? If the wire is broke beneath the insulation, when you pull on it, it will act like a rubber band. You won't be able to see it. You will have to tug on it. If they are good, they can stand a pretty good pull. If they are bad, the insulation will stretch and possibly pull in two depending on how hard you pull. Check that if you didn't and let me know, ok.

Yeah, i tugged em pretty good, and they seemed ok, so you say you have seen this before? One thing to note is that my problem only happens when it is warmed up, I would thing with the broken wire it would either be all the time or more intermittenet (like when i hit bumps) or are you thinking the wire is broke but i only see the result when it is warmed up because that is when it relies on that sensor to regulate air temp or whatever a tmap does? Also just to be sure I checked the correct place where is the Tmap. (I have a shop manual on the way).
If i cant figure it out I guess i will need to take a trip to the stealer... wich is very far away and i will hafta get my friend with a truck to bring it for me....

ps All have you guys have been great on here, I usta go on a Ski-doo sled forum and they were all jerks to eachother.

One more thing to check. Look at the intake boot that the throttle body sticks into. I have seen them crack and cause them to run bad. See if its cracked.

Default POLARIS GURUS HELP!!!

Hey 94harley, if ya still got that fule pump i am interested, I have been working on ATV'S for years... and am just as experienced as any shop, but i figured that they had more time and could figure it out ... any way they don't know whats up either, I think the fule pump, if i buy your pump what other parts are needed to spap it out, as I have heard the whole takn needs to be swapped?,, or is that just for the sending unit/ or are they both in the tank?

Thanks
