2008 Sportsman 800
First post. Have been checking out the site for a little while now, seems great!
Has any purchased a new sportsman 800? Whats your review of it? Do you have any regrets? Would you do it again? What kind of issues have you had with it?
I'm looking at getting one soon in camo with the front and rear bumpers with a polaris winch. Any idea of a decent price for one? Also does polaris have a wireless winch or if I want the wireless will I have to go with the Warn winch?
Thanks folks.

this is my 2nd 800 as i had an 06' that i traded 3 months ago for my 08 800 and see a little more(5 hp increase) and the adc works extremly well. they have a bigger radaitor in 08' so it seems to runner cooler then then the 06' no probelms to report. check out my pics if you want for an idear what the bumpers and a 3.0 warn winch looks like. i recommend a warn for sure.

A dealer quoted me at $9150 (out the door) for the 08 800 in camo with winch and front brush guard and rear brush guard. This included a 5% tax so the actual price he was thinking was about $8700. Is that a pretty good deal? I asked him if he could do any better and he told me he couldn't because there aren't any rebates out there right now. Any ideas?

should actually be 9135.00 then. they retail for 8599.00 for the regual colors and i think its 300.00 for the camo extra. so hes giving you the front and rear guards and winch(most likely not a warn winch) for nothing. not too bad of deal, but rtickwad got a real good deal on his. i think mine was 8299. minus my trade.

Kcriss,
If your in the Mid-Atlantic region, you may want to consider Ridersville Cycle
in Berkley Springs, W-VA (No taxes). I got my price for $7650 (Stealth, non-camo) w/o
winch or bumpers, BUT minus my 450 trade-in yea that is almost a grand if
you add it all up new. I kept my old "goodies" and still to mount them all.
Seems like a good deal, the next question and back to Stendori (lol), he got a
better interest/payment plan then I did. See what he gives ya there too..8-)

Lets say you didn't have it paid in 6 months. What rate would you have gotten hit with? Mine looks like they can't do any better than 9.99 percent. That is gonna kill me. If they would give me a better rate I would be sitting on a new 800 right now. I don't have bad credit. Just never bought anything big. They approved me at 10k but at that rate. I dont know what to do.

That low interest rate they have that jumps up after a couple years is a bad deal if you don't pay it off or double up on your payments in that two years time. Basically your low monthly payment is only going towards the interest, so at the end of two years when they refinance you at the higher rate it is based on your balance..... and since nothing was going towards the principle..... your paying 18% (or whatever it is) on the full price of the machine and now it's a couple years old.
If you're not dead set on an '08, they might still be offering either the rebate or low interest rate on the '07s.

Then visit your local credit union before the promotional period is up and refinance it. On my '07, I took out a 60 month loan at 6.5% at my credit union.
Good luck!
