scrambler rear axel

how do i get the big nuts loose on the axel is there a need to know way ty

What year is this machine. the info below may be for older machines. I need to verify first.


I believe they are a 1 and 3/4 inch nut. They also rust most of the time making them hard to remove. I have had them rusted so bad that I had to use an air hammer(the biggest one snap on makes) and remove them that way. Put the machine in gear. Have someone hold the brakes and try to break them free. Use penetrating oil. You may try heating them. Do what ever you have to, to get them off. They do get nasty at times. Good luck.

I dont mess with fighting the nuts!I get a drimmel out with a cutting wheel,make 2 cut in the nut stopping before the threads and finish splitting it with a hammer and chisel.It save time and cussing to replace the nuts.they are only around $10
