Default Need tips on Changing a Gasket

Oil is leaking out of my breather cover on my 2004 polaris. I need to change the gasket. I ordered it and it should be here early next week. Do I need to use any sealant?
Any tips you can give will be appreciated because I have never done this before.

It sits on top of the valve cover. This is for a 2004 330 Magnum 4x4.

i would hand tighten each bolt until flush with cover. then in a cross pattern torque the breather cover to specification. torque spec i dont know. but if we cant get it for you here in atvconnection.com i would just gently seat each bolt. remembering to tighten the cover in a cross pattern.....................that way all sides of the breather cover settle at the same rate............

regarding gasket sealant..........................i dont know........................
did the old one come off with some residue on it huh?

like if it had sealant on it?................................

some one here can probably chip in on the sealant.......................knowlege

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't actually taken the breather cover off yet so I am not sure if there is any residue from old sealant on there.

If anyone has any info regarding sealant or the torque specs, please let me know.
