What size tires are those? I'm looking at the blackwater XT's. Not sure what size I should get. I dont want the front tires to rub at all. I also don't have a lift on it yet but it's possible. This would be in a sportsman 500.

I have the following tires in the last year.

27 Bi/Tri-claw

27 Vamps

27" Mud Bugs

26" outlaws

I have a 1.5" lift kit, but I have only lifted the bike 3/4 of an inch and it does not rub at all even when jumping. I made the snorkel myself. The only other mods to the bike are K&N Filter, and Hand Warmers.

I liked the Billet rims, and probably should have kept them, but I race in the Mud Races at FWP. Sometimes the races are held in deep water. Being lighter is not an advantage. The front of the bike floats up too much and you lose momentum. The weight difference is not all that substantial when you are talkng about 28lbs on a 700 pound machine. It was a pain to polish the aluminum rims also, but right after I sold them, I found some stuff that you spray on and wash off and the rims look almost new. I would probably keep them if I had to do it again. This is my 4th set of tires this year, and I will probably have another set before long, and I think I may go back with billets.

Greg,
Absolutly outstanding. Snorkels are clean and conform to the bodyline. Which highlift kit did you use, "Highlifter's" or home made, it looks great. I like the rims also, may be my next buy. Let us know how they are for after-mud upkeep.
Thanks
Al

Sweet Greg, sweet. I remember once when my quad was squeaky clean and polished and new looking like that too, not. Riding with them 27" claws now allows me to wear everything I drive thru. Did you have the same fun as me with thrown dirt all over the quad? If you did, how did you solve the fender smallness factor. I am assuming you are liking the 26" outlaws better than the 27" claws, you've chosen to go the same route as I intend to, but my tire swaps usually happen about once per quad. Meaning the claws are here to stay for awhile.

I really do not think the 26" Outlaws are any better than the 27 Claws. The claws definitely ride better though. One good thing about the Outlaws, is that they do rub at all even when hitting a good jump. I bought my lift from East Texas Polars and modified it for easy removal/instalation. The best money I have spent so far on this bike was spent on the Hand warmers. They make a miserably cold day more tolerable.
