Default EBS Question

Get the EBS or better ADC.
A utility machine with out this is like buying 1 without 4wd!
The EBS just locks the engine and trans together, sorta like driving a stick in low gear, you can get jerky if you get on and off the gas too quick, learn to Drive!
The ADC also locks the front wheels with the rear wheels. So you also have 4wd going down steep grades! It works just like AWD going uphills, just kicks in when the tires start to slide! This makes steering very easy most of the time!
You guys bitching about EBS I'm sure are running hills steeper than Polaris recommends. If so you need ADC for a controlled decent!
So basially you can't just drift with EBS, if you let off the throttle it will slow down.

The only problems i have with it is, coming down steep, loose, rocky hills the rear end locks up and gets a little side ways, and

Default EBS Question

I've had non-EBS, EBS alone, and EBS with ADC. I have to say that for sport riding, I can do without EBS. But for every other kind of riding, EBS w/ADC is great!! Well worth the money.

BTW, my clutch is totally silent, whether accelerating or decellerating. The only noises coming from my 800 are from the gearbox and rear differential, and the right side of the engine.

Default EBS Question

Looks like I asked an open ended question. Many thanks for the input, I'm going with EBS and ADC on the 08 model.

wise decision grasshopper. no, you'll be real happy w/ the ebs/adc feature. in low range it almost will crawl down a steep hill.

Default EBS Question

Thanks for the comment stendori, picking it up Thursday. The ADC appeals to me based on what I've read and comments like yours.

Default EBS Question

my 06 800 has the EBS , ive been bitchin aboot it since day 1 . a couple of weeks ago coming down a snow coverd steep 60/70 foot hill , went right sideways all the way down , it scarred the crap out of me then i rememberd someone told me to , Before you go down any crazy hill , right at the face of it , put it in reveres, hold the override button, crack the throttle and then quickly put it in H or L and BAM you got 4 wheel engine braking i couldnt belive it , it worked and the rest of the day i went down the steepest of hills without a worry.

Default EBS Question

yea bam, hope it doesnt take out the front end doing that lol. actually just like any other brand wheeler the adc is only going to be as good as the traction your tires have on a steep hill. you loose tire traction, your going for ride no matter how good the engine braking is. SNOW i dont want to hear about snow already. thats a 4 letter bad word. lol

442,

We expect a ride report from you by the end of the day.....LOL!!!! Seriously, you'll find out just how valuable ADC is the first time you go down a STEEP hill with it engaged. Have fun!!
