I am probably going to get them, does $40 seem high or the going rate for them? I was not meaning to slam anybody on having them, just that a couple of my friends made comments about having them and also about having a wind shield (which I am also contemplating).

I put them on our atvs just for the mirror mounted in them. Nice not to have to turn around to see who I am dusting out.

I really wish I would have had a set monday. I smashed my third and fourth fingers on my left hand while riding. A tree branch smashed into them and pinned them against the grip. Took off my riding glove and they were purple and bleeding. It was a real horror show.

I'm going to get a set ASAP. I think the kolpin ones with the mirrors in them. I could really use the mirror as I have a habit of bumping into stuff when backing up.

"I still won't buy one of those one piece suits the snowmobilers wear. I have my limits. Besides, with my size and weight, if I get in a one piece someone is going to hang a gondola from me, fill me with helium, and hover me over the nearest football game."

Being one of the bigger guys, I have never LOL so hard from reading somthing. Just cld see what I wld look like in a snowmobile one piece, LMAO that was good ty.

As for the handgaurds I wld not say getting them wld make you less of a man just makes you a smarter man.

I have seriously thought about getting them and I just have not yet. I think they would be great protection as everyone said before, and I think I will probably get them eventually.

Really, it is not as bad as owning a minivan. Handguards are okay if you've earned them with the appropriate number of gashes, gouges, missing skin, imbedded thorns and splinters, and various other show-off-worthy injuries. I was thinking of them. I may have missed an answer, but does anyone have the Polaris ones mounted with the winch toggle switch also on the handlebar?

Come on! I never even thought the handguards were not manly. I think they are cool looking. Get the hot grips and some Polaris mits if you really want to stay warm. Manly or not. I could give a hoot. I just got the mits last week for this winter. I would consider a windshield but I don't think I have room with everything else.
