Default coolant additive

reading this last post just reminded me of alll the talk we all did this past spring about adding water wetter, redline or what ever. just wondering if anyone actually did it in their bikes and gots some proven results. i know for myself, i decided to put a temp gauge in my 06' and make 100% sure to keep the rad. clean. it seemed to to help to watch it and to realize when the rad. was starting to get plugged as the temp rose faster.

A buddy of mine has ran water wetter in his Outlander 800 for about a year. He says it helps keep the fan from running as much, but he also had a factory reprogram on his PCM about the same time so he can't say for sure what has been keeping it cooler running.

I also put a temp gauge in and I just keep an eye on it. I also take the time to really clean my rad after a few good mud rides.

I'm pretty sure you can leave the water wetter in year round. I might be wrong, but I know my buddy left it in his all year round.

water wetter works best if used with straight water. when winter comes you have to put anti-freeze back in. so basically you buy water wetter every spring and anti-freeze in the fall.

w/out a temp gage their isnt any way to prove that it actually runs at a cooler temp. mister.. is right, the water wetter does work better in water from what i read. 2blue, your tank shouldnt be empty at any time. w/ it cold fill to the min line and when its hot it shouldnt be past the max line. if you fill it and it keeps going down then you have a problme some where.
