Default '06 Trail Balzer 250

Quick question. My nephew got a new Trail Balzer 250 (leftover model) back in March. My brother-in-law isn't' sure if he should set it up for winter storage or not, he was thinking to start it up every two weeks. Anyone have any tips for winterizing? I've owned a couple of sleds in the past and used to fog the engine, add fuel stabilizer, etc for the summer. Is this necessary for the 2-cycle quads? Thanks!

FYI, I previously had this posted as "Scrambler 250" My bad, I got the model names mixed up.

I stored my 00 Trailblazer 250 for a year while I was in Iraq and all i did was turn off the fuel, add fuel stabilizer, drain the carb. A year later, turned the fuel on and after a couple tries it started right up, but fogging the cylinder can't hurt.

I'll pass on the info. I'm going to try and talk him into a couple of winter rides. I love winter rides myself and where he rides (about 40 acres behind the house) there's hardly any snowmobile traffic.

Thanks for the input and thanks for your service!

i would use stabi. in the tank and run the engine for a while to run it thru the carb. make sure it has a full tank to rule out condersation. i always make sure my batteries are fully charged as well. i dont start mine for about 5 months w/ no problems. some like fogging the engine but i dont. some also put a small amount oil in the spark whole and let it set.

I fog my sleds ....They sit alot longer...........As for the Quads.....I just keep using them a bit around the yard and roadway(private)........I went ice-fishing a few times with the quad also.....................

My daugher like to get pulled on the G.T. racer behind the Quad in winter..............The sled is too smelly and smokey!!!....LOL............Caper...........

I just went out and did my wifes TB - added fuel stabilizer - ran it for a while then turned off the gas and ran it until it died then opened the choke and started it until it died again
