Default Starter/bendix trouble

I got some water in the starter housing. Due to the fact my pull start was not sealed off. Well this has made my bendix to rattle bad (all the time ). Anyway do I need a new one or should I oil this one down and throw it back in there?

Clean it up and use it, even the bendix drives that never see water will rattle in a short enought time.

the only problem is that the rattling is truely bad also the bendix has began to hang up a bit here and there. do u still think a wash and oil will do the trick. i have also heard that a after market bendix is better than a oringinal. thoughts?
