NEED YOUR HELP

Alright I got an old late 80's Polaris TrailBoss 250 and it normally dosent give me any trouble. But today I went to start it and it didnt want to start and pulled it alot. I flooded it but eventually started was boggy but was spewing gas out the exhaust then it cleared up and was alright then it stalled. Then I tried to restart it and it wouldnt start then eventually it did and died and I cant get it to start anymore. I had it running about a week ago no problem. About a month and a half ago I had similar problems but I cleaned the carb., changed the gas, the spark plugand everything seemed fine. I dont know whats wrong I would like to drain the lower end but dont see a plug or anything. Please give me some advice here.

Sounds like a stuck needle Valve, have you checked your oil to see if fuel is free flowing and getting into the Crankcase. Usually if there is fuel blasting out of the exhaust, fuel has leaked into the crank case and thinned the oil (more so than the 0W thats in there) so it can get past the rings.

WHich oil the oil injection or the crankcase oil I just checked the crancase oit and oh there was any maybe a drip or two real thin (gas) im trying to find the fill plug. Do you think this means im going to have to replace the rings? Needle valve is the one on the float correct ill check it but I cleaned not too long ago but i could of made a mistake it wouldnt suprise me.

Schneider is thinking about a 4 stroke engine, not your 2 stroke. Pull the carb and replace the needle valve and float pin. Set the float and you should be fine. It will run as good as it did before this happened once you get all the fuel out of the crankcase.

Alright I tore the carb off and pulled the bowl off and there seems to be some sort of corrosion in the throat of the card as well as the bottom of the bowl looks like tomorow I will be getting drygas, a new plug, a can of carb cleaner and some fresh gas. Should I drain the injector oil as well and change that? Also what plug # and what should I gap it at.

The injector oil will be fine. The plug is a NGK BR8ES. .030 to .032 gap(if memory serves) Cleaning the needle valve MAY work, it may not. Check it for wear in the seat. Grooves worn around the diameter of the seat. Always replace the float pin when you replace the needle valve.

Also pull the exhaust off and be sure you have all the gas out of it.I had this happen on one the other day gas blocked in the head pipe.

94 Harley is right, I was thinking 4 stroke, sorry for the confusion. Rather than just a can of carb cleaner, I would deifintely invest in a Carb kit(new needle valve, seals, floatetc) and reset the float level.

anytime gas is pouring into the crank or the exhaust its usually bad needle and seat. like they said drain the crank and the exhaust if you can that way it wont freeze up or reflood.

By Drain the crank you mean pull out the little ten mm. bolt in front of the starter? I did and a couple drops came out but that was it. Also I am game for rebuilding the carb but im going to need a little assistance. I have rebuilt carbs before but most have been the diaphram style on old sleds. It probally has been six almost seven years since the carb was rebuilt maybe even longer if they didnt do it at the shop were I got it fixed the first time.
