battery?

i have a 1994 sportsman 400 had charging problem, now have new battery in it found out stator is probly bad was wondering if when im not riding if i could use a battery tender? the only time i use the battery is for the winch to plow[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

you need to fix the machine, a winch uses alot of juice so you need a to have the battery charging while you are plowing so it doesnt drain it completely also running that machine with a dead battery will burn out all the light bulbs and possibly the cdi.

Lead acid batteries needs to be kept fully charged.. always.
If the charging system is not working, charge the battery after every use until you fix the problem.
An SLA ( Sealed Lead Acid ) battery left in a discharged state will quickly " sulfate " and become rather useless in short order.
