05 700 efi overheating?
When I fill my overflow bottle when it's cold and go for a 10 minute run, the bottle will be empty or just an 1/8 inch of coolant on the bottom of the bottle. Is it a bad head gasket. No message over comes up that tells me it's hot. Sometimes the coolant spews out of top and other times i'm not sure where the coolant went.

the only way it comes out the top of the bottle is from heat expention from too much in the(should be between the 2 lines when cold) bottle or from overheating which it would be shooting out the vent hole. if this is happening make sure the fan is working and the rad. isnt plugged back and front. if noe of the above applies then its leaking or going thru the engine. check the oil to make sure its not in there.

I disagree! I blew 2 head gaskets on my old 500HO. Never any antifreeze in the oil or smoke. It drove me nuts trying to figure it out. It wasnt leaking into the cylinder, but on compression stroke, air was blowing by the head gasket into the water jacket causing a buildup of pressure and a fountain out the overflow bottle. I would do as Stendori says and make sure the radiator is VERY clean. if you still have problems, run it with the radiator cap off and look for alot of bubbles. If you see this, you have trouble!

I had a problem with the head gasket on my twin and with the oil seal behind the water pump. Both times I got water in my oil. Let it sit overnight and then pull the drain plug. If there is water in the oil it will settle to the bottom and come out before the oil. It also presurized the cooling system and shot the water out of the overflow bottle without overheating the machine as heller1 says.
