ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL
#1
JUST BOUGHT A USED 1996 TRAILBLAZER 250. REGARDING THE ETC. SHOULD THE CONTACTS IN THE ETC BE TOUCHING? OR SHOULD IT HAVE A SLIGHT SPACE BETWEEN THEM? ATV IDLES GREAT WITH CONTACTS TOUCHING, CLOSED CIRCUIT. WHEN CIRCUIT OPENED IT MISSES. I LOOKED AT MY SCRAMBLER ETC WHICH IS A 2006 AND IT HAS THE CIRCUIT OPENED. IS THE 1996 TRAILBLAZER JUST THE OPPOSITE?

well i tinkered with the etc today. on this model 1996 trailblazer the circuit is closed/touching and it idles and runs great. once i open the circuit by adjusting the throttle it misfires and loses power. with the etc cover off and the rear wheels off the ground and front wheels blocked for safety reasons i put the atv in gear and throttle it to a good speed, i let go of the throttle but hold the throttle cable in place. this procedure opens the circuit simulating a stuck/sticky throttle. the motor will begin to lose power and misfire. i'll let go of the throttle cable and it'll return to its place contacting the other end of the etc circuit thus closing the circuit and it'l idle and run great. the etc circuit in this model should be closed/touching for it to operate correctly. the safety feature of the etc is fully operational. tested it and retested it...........................!!!.................. .....!!!
