Default Front Strut Removal

I am trying to remove the front strut to replace my boot. I have the bottom unbolted but I am trying to remove the front strut to replace my boot. I have the bottom unbolted but can't get it out of the A-arm. Any ideas or what am I missing?

are you talking about the ball joint..if so you can buy a balljoint/tie-rod seperator and ANY auto store..i just yake 2 hammers and smack both sides of the a-armbut the ball-joint at the same time and it is that easy..

Here is what I am trying to seperate. I went and got a Tie rod tool and so far no luck. I did not want really hammer on it until I know there is nothing else holding it.

put a hammer on the a-arm at the bottom where the balljoint goes through and then whack the other side with another hammer..works every time for me..

I use a big punch at the top of a-arm where it meets the ball joint, one good hit with a big hammer and it will come apart.

jim, its like a car its on a taper and hitting sometimes will get it off or i would use a seperator to get it off but you dont to take the strut off completely to get the shaft out of it. just pull it out a little. did you get it all straighten out? i forgot the question you sne tme sorry been wicked busy on my sled.

A tie rod tool works best. But you can womp thye sides with a hammer then tap down on the A arm and it usually drops right off
