Polaris Belt
#1
Hi guys,
I just got a new 07 Sportsman 800 in september. I was just wondering if it was bad for the belt to press the throttle down all the way from a dead stop to get it to wheelie. Does it shred or stretch the belt.
Thanks

what is hard on belts is when you hit the throttle and your working the bike hard like in the mud or hauling heavy studd and your in high range. i wheelie once in a while as well but i dont do it all the time because dont want to press the luck too much if you know what i mean.

I know i torched mine up a bit when it was new (newbie stupidity) whats the best belt to replace with? any certain belt that grabs better than the others? longer life? I would like to replace mine soon just to get that new grab back and want to do it with the best one and just cuz I like doing stuff to it

Does it hurt anything when you flog your car/truck! Take care of your equipment and it will last a long time, don't and it will fail!

It doesnt hurt to hammer the throttle unles you dont know what to do like on a Scrambler and it dumps you on your butt.
I have found it is best to stay with stock belts and replace them every couple years.I ran a few dif belts Dayco and goodyear and both wore the clutch sheaves faster.
