TWO STROKE HELP
#11
I had figured that the choke thing was Sportsmanho...I just wanted to answer with the 1-2-3-4 thing, with everything correct, but no.
Anyways, I have a fuel line shut off, and I don't see why the primer would prime when the engine is off. I'll look at it though. Couls it be caused by a weak spark??? coul my plug wires be "worn" not letting through all the electricity needed? When I took off the carbs, I checked the floaters, an dboth on each carb were perfect, so did the little thing that "tells" the carb the fuellevel. I don't see what's wrong (otherwise, it would be fixed).
Thanks

Zorro, I read recently that Ski-Doo was recommending changing the spark plug gap on all of its products to 0.18 Have you tried that yet before you go experiment with the wires? Did the wires get so hot that they became brittle and are now on the verge of cracking? If they crack they will leak spark. This leakage can be viewed at night with the engine running. If the wires are leaking voltage you will see sparks arcing where the wires are near something metal. If there is no arcing your wires should be okay.
A primer could prime/leak down if the plunger seal was worn in the pump. Anyhow that is just a theory.
The GT 583 that we had in the family would only exhibit this behavior once in a while, but that was when we had flooded the engine when it was cold, due to inexperience with the primer unit.
It seems that each rotary valved Rotax requires it's own "touch" with the primer for proper functioning. There was a learning curve involved.
