Default Replacement Header/Exhaust Pipe for 03 Sportsman 700

My original WELD-MANIFOLD cracked and I'd like to upgrade to something like this
My dealer ordered me the Polaris Exhaust Pipe, Flex replacement kit (PN 2876216), it's for a 2005 - 06 800 EFI, and it doesn't seem to fit my 03 sportsman 700.
It will bolt onto the head, but there's mounting brackets where there is no place to mount.
What's the right kit for my 700?

Default Replacement Header/Exhaust Pipe for 03 Sportsman 700

ive never done it myself but alot of guys here put on the 800 header pipe on the 700 because it has more air flow which gives more power. they didnt mention any problems hooking it up though. sportsman70003 would be a good one to ask, as hes done about everything to his 03 700.

I have one on my 03-700 and there is just the tab on top of the pipe that doesnt mount anywhere, otherwise it should bolt up. I also bought the White bros muffler and a quiet core for it, I think the muffler does alot for the performance also.In the next week or so I'm putting the new 800 H.O> cam, lifters and push rods in my 700, I'll let everyone know how that turns out .

So it is the right one? Okay, maybe I'll bolt it on and try. Did yours come with the heat shield? Mine didn't unless the dealer forgot to order it, or give it to me.

You definately need the heat shield, the plastic will melt without it.

Oh yea, you'll have to take the right hand floor board off and unhook the shift linkage to get it on.

i had to take the floor board and shift linkage off to get he old one out. I had the new one in place yesterday, ready to bolt it on, then I seen that mounting bracket that didn't mount anywhere so i read the instructions, and i seen the application for 2005-06 800 EFI and started to wonder if I had the right one.
I ordered the heat shield, it's $17 w/ tax.

Do I need to change the jetting or anything once it's installed?

I got it installed and ran it around the yard for about 20 mins, after adjusting the idle it seemed to run pretty good. A little bit of white smoke and a smell of the new pipe at first, but it went away.
So has anyone else left it stock, or changed the jetting?
