I need a transmission changed on a 2002 Polaris 700, a dealer told me its a 14 hr job. Is this true? They also told me the engine needs split to yank my tranny, im just finding this hard to believe...I need some feedback

Not sure on that, but you can always call another dealer and ask how much and how long to do it and see what they say.

I am not sure what splitting the engine means? The clutch cover would have to come off for sure. The front and rear shafts would have to come loose to get some slack. take shift linkage loose unplug the wires on transmission. I am not sure how much trouble it would be to get transmission out of the frame, but I can't see how it would take 14 hrs. sounds to me like they are trying to stick you
