Default Help -2007 500 X2 EFI - Service Interval Indicator?

I bought a 2007 X2 and picked it up a week ago. It had 57 miles on it. I was told that the service was done one it prior to picking it up. I put approxiamtely 7 miles on it since and the service interval light flashes when I start it up. (LCD Wrench Icon). Does this mean it was not reset or does this mean the pre delivery items that the bike shop had told me was not performed. What exactly is this pre-warning light (wrench icon) monitoring ie..transmision oil, engine oil etc...

Thanks

It is tracking hours of use. Also you can enter the diagnostic mode to see if any codes are being set off. Check with dealer to insure they really serviced it. If so reset it to 50-75 or 100 hours. Polaris recomends 100 hours. I service mine at 75 hours.

If you need the reset procedure let me know and I will post it when I get a little time, or go to pure polaris .com and download the owners manual. It takes you through the diagnostic modes starting on page 34.

Default Help -2007 500 X2 EFI - Service Interval Indicator?

Thanks..I have 15.3 hours, 60 miles and I used it 2.9 miles since I bought it. So that being said it still isn't broken in. I will check the manual to see what the break in period is and change the oil when applicable.

Thanks

20 to 25 hrs is the break in period. the icon flasking the wrench is settable and is usually at 50 hrs and counts down backwards to 0 and then it will flash. shows in the book around page 46 i think and shows how to reset it.

Thanks I reset it and I am going to change the oil at about 20 - 25 hours. I was wondering why it was indicating 0 hours. It must have been set at 15 hours. Can't wait for Santa to come and bring me some ATV money....

I was told when i bought my 800 that i had to bring it in for the 20 hour service to do all the fluids and adjust the valves or the warranty would be voided. Is this true? I wouldn't mind having the valves adjusted by the dealer since mine and another friends 500 scramblers blew up at around 1 year of owning. Neither had the valves adjusted early on. The were both repaired under warranty but that dealer was cool and has since been bought out.

first theres no vlave adjustment of the 800 w/ hyd. lifters. unless youhave an extended warranty then i would change the oil your self if you only have a 6 month as it doesnt cover much. i had my 06' serviced by the "stealer" because i had a 3 yr warr. and he said the same thing about them doing the first service which is nothing more then changing the damn oil and just topping off fluids if they need it for $100.00. my 08' i will do my self this spring. just my .02

ah sneeky sneeky they are. I just reviewed my purchase order and found out my 60 month extended warranty wasn't thrown in free as I was told. it was $1200. But What I paid for the 3 year on my old quad i'm not to upset. Just a little peeved that I wasn't just told the truth. After reading all the threads about the crappy oil in the difs and tranny I'll probably chang everything soon.
