Default air/fuel screw

Hi

I have a 1999 sportman 500, I put a post up a month ago when I was having trouble with the atv everything has improved on the quad.

I need to know what the air/fuel adjustment screw is set at, how many turns out?
I have it set at 2 1/4 out and a friend said to try it at 2 1/2 out.

Since its been so cold out the quad has been running great, sometimes it boggs and you smell fuel and black smock comes out the exhuast.

Thanks

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

You are close enough to run.I would check the plug and go from there.
