Lets see...
The GNCC cc limit is changing from 525 to 450, so be prepared to see a 450 IRS outlaw... Hopefully a little lighter and with Fox shocks all around because as far as I'm concerned, the only reason '08 IRS's have Ryde FX's on the back is because they had left-overs. Also, as demand for such a machine is limited to XC racers, I'd say it would be an LE. But it depends how much lighter they can make it.
Looking at other potential KTM powerplants, the LC4's sprocket is on the wrong side to be used in any existing platforms, so a 620-690 is not likely. Fortunately with as awesomely powerful as KTM engines are, it is also not necessary. But thinking about other potentials: the KTM 450 SX will be released this year, specifically designed for MX. And if it were just a matter of longer A-Arms, it would have been released with the XC's. Since it wasn't, we can assume that there's a bigger design change in store. The 450 and 525 RFS engines are torquey but lack over-rev HP. I.E. GREAT XC engines but they can be found wanting on an MX track. They are also a little heavier than the new DOHC RF4, XC4, and RC4 platforms so is it possible to see these in the new KTM SX? I'd bet on it. If they wind up in the KTM SX, why not the 450MXR? Oh, and while we're at it why not a 250MXR to compete with the new 250 Raptor and the rumored LTR250? Finally, perhaps this DOHC platform could be a way to shave weight enough to use in the 450 Outlaw IRS platform. I know it's a lot of speculation, but it's not all based on rumors, and in the past I've been pretty good at reading them. (Like when I predicted that the straight-axle 525 would be released after my freinds were pissed that the '07 Outlaw was IRS only. I told him then that they were probably grafting an Outlar front end to a Predator chassis since the Outlaw front end is significantly evolved. Lo and behold it happened.)
Not sure if all of my predictions will come true, but I'd put money on a couple of them...

what i would love to see anybody make is a motor that don't sound like it's going to blow up or a rod is getting ready to come out the side of the motor, hell you can buy a 100.00 lawn mower from wal-mart that don't sound like that, how come atvs cain't be that way, why, we let them, when people fill these surveys out, most people want bigger engines, anybody that goes more than 50mph on a 4-wheeler is nuts anyway. i also would like to see them get a little quieter,it sure would be nice to ride a wheeler that ran smooth and quiet now wouldn't it;don't you all agree, come on guys these things are made to ride in the woods,we should be wanting something that turns easy, runs smooth, and makes very little noise,wayout,out.................................. .
