According to my book, you do not need to remove the tank for the screen to be removed for the 500 X2, but the book could be wrong.

The 500 X2 does not indicate removing the tank as well.

Well the pictures didn't work. However the battery is beside the oil tank and the screen is between the battery and the tank. Therefore you can not get to the screen without removing the tank or maybe the battery. If the battery is removed the only way to the screen is from the front wheel well which is cramped. I guess I have to here from a 500 EFI X2 owner and see how they did it.

How many hours or miles do you have on it? Your book should be the same as mine, they are for the 500/800 X2

I have about 15 hours and 55 miles. I am not sure if the dealership already changed the oil. I bought it three weeks ago with 50 miles on it. I really do not think they did.

The book is the same but there is one section for the 800 and another for the 500. No mention of removing anything, but there is no way, from what I see to do the work with the battery in the way.
