Default 05 Sportsman 500 powe loss

I was plowing snow the other day when my engine and all electronics quite. My winch still works because it is directly wired to my battery, but all other displays, lights, and engine will not come one. Has anyone else ever heard of this or has had this problem happen to them? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

first thing is to check the connections at the battery and up thru to make sure you are power. if the bike looses the battery power it will not stay running.

Any bike should be able to run even without a battery as long as the alternator is working. This problem sounds like fuse or a electronic control modual. Not sure where they would be , either under the seat ,in behind the fender, or under the front plastic . You might need to get someone with a tester and some knowledge of electronics of ATVs. I hope this helps you.

My ECM was faulty and the cooling fan stayed on(overnight) while the Quad was in my garage WITHOUT THE KEY IN ............Anyway the battery was totally dead..........Tried starting with the pull cord....Engine started and then quit.......started then quit!!

My Quad will not stay running without some charge in the battery

Note it may still run with a bad or drained battery .....but my was totally dead!!!.......Caper.

Just thought I would let you know!!!!
